Why choose Skin & Beauty Box?

Bristol is not short of salons. Here is what is actually different about this one, with the receipts rather than the adjectives.

Nearly twenty years in the same three streets

Open since 2007, across Clifton Down, Westbury on Trym and Westbury Park. Not a chain that arrived last year, and not a single room that moves when the lease is up. The therapists are the reason people rebook, and most of them have been here long enough that clients follow them between salons.

Clinic-grade kit, not salon-grade approximations

We use Lynton IPL, a British manufacturer whose systems are used in NHS settings, for hair removal, thread veins and pigmentation. HydraFacial at Clifton, CACI and Environ at Westbury Park, Cryopen and electrolysis at Westbury on Trym. The equipment lives where the trained therapists are rather than being spread thin across three sites.

You get the honest answer, including when it is no

Anti-wrinkle treatment cannot erase a line already etched in at rest, IPL gives long-term reduction rather than guaranteed permanent removal, and semi-permanent brows heal lighter on oily skin. All three are on this site because you should know before you book, not after.

If a treatment is wrong for you, the practitioner says so rather than taking the booking regardless.

Prices published, in full, before you get in the chair

Every treatment page carries a price range and how long the appointment takes. The full price list is on the site rather than behind an enquiry form, and booking online shows the exact price for your chosen salon before you confirm.

The details that make an appointment bearable

Perron Rigot hot wax on intimate areas because it grips better and hurts less than strip wax. Intimate waxing done lying down, in private, with time to get ready and a soothing oil afterwards. Numbing cream before injectables, and cannulas rather than sharp needles where appropriate.

No chocolate wax and no hazelnut wax. Fragrance in wax is a marketing decision, not a skin-care one.

Aftercare you leave with, not aftercare you google

Every injectable patient goes home with an aftercare sheet and out-of-hours contact details. Patch test rules, the 48 hours after a wax and the twelve hours after a tan are all written down on the treatment pages, so you can check before you book rather than guessing afterwards.
