Aesthetics and injectables in Bristol

Every injectable treatment at Skin & Beauty Box is delivered by Bristol Skin Company, our in-house aesthetics team.

Whichever salon you book, Clifton Down, Westbury on Trym or Westbury Park, you’ll have a face-to-face medical consultation with them before anything is agreed.

That consultation is where they take your medical history and explain what a treatment can and can’t realistically do. They’ll also tell you if something on our menu isn’t right for you, even when that means suggesting you wait or go elsewhere.

Every injectable patient goes home with an aftercare sheet and our out-of-hours contact details, so you know exactly how to reach us if anything concerns you after you leave.

Bristol has no shortage of aesthetics clinics, and price is the wrong first question. Ask these instead, of us or of anyone else:

• Is your injector a qualified prescriber (doctor, dentist, nurse or pharmacist), not someone off a weekend course?
• Is there a face-to-face consultation before anything is booked?
• Are the products reversible, like hyaluronic acid fillers?
• Do they avoid advertising prescription-only medicines? UK rules prohibit it.
• Is there an aftercare contact if something feels wrong afterwards?
• Are you given time to decide, without pressure to book on the day?

Cosmetic injectables in the UK are more regulated than people expect, and the rules exist to protect you, not to slow down your booking.

The Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 makes it illegal to provide these treatments to anyone under 18 for cosmetic reasons. We check ID if there’s any doubt.

The anti-wrinkle treatment we use is a prescription-only medicine, and UK law prohibits advertising prescription-only medicines to the public. That’s why you won’t find a brand name for it anywhere on this site, in our marketing, or on our social media.

It’s also why every injectable treatment starts with a face-to-face medical consultation rather than an online booking form. That consultation is a legal requirement as much as a clinical one, and it’s where we decide together whether treatment is appropriate at all.

A licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures in England has also been announced and is being implemented. It adds another layer of accountability on top of the rules above. We’ll update this page as it takes effect.
