Which one to book

Three lengths, and the difference is how much is done rather than how well. Mini is 25 minutes of shaping, a cuticle tidy and polish, which is the maintenance appointment. Classic adds a hand soak and lotion at 45 minutes. Luxury runs 55 minutes and adds exfoliation, cuticle softening, a hand and arm massage and heated mitts.

If your nails are in good shape and you just want colour, book mini. If you want the appointment to feel like a treatment rather than an errand, book luxury.

Vinylux, and why there is no base coat

We finish with CND Vinylux, a weekly polish system. The colour coat is self-adhering, so there is no base coat, and the top coat keeps hardening on exposure to daylight rather than softening over the week.

It dries in about eight and a half minutes against the fifteen to twenty a standard polish takes, and it is designed to hold a week without chipping. It removes with ordinary polish remover, so there is no soak-off appointment attached to it.

Add-ons

Any of these can be added when you book, or asked for on the day.

  • French finish, £9.
  • Gel instead of polish, £13, for instant dry and up to two weeks of wear.
  • BIAB, £10, when you want the nail strengthened as well as coloured.

Common questions

What is the difference between a mini, classic and luxury manicure?

Time and what is included. Mini is 25 minutes: shaping, cuticle tidy and polish. Classic is 45 minutes and adds a hand soak and lotion. Luxury is 55 minutes and adds exfoliation, cuticle softening, a hand and arm massage and heated mitts. All three finish with Vinylux.

How long does Vinylux last?

A week is the design target, and in the manufacturer’s own testing more than 80 percent of clients had no chipping after seven days. It hardens rather than softens in daylight, which is why it holds. If you need longer than a week, book gel instead.

Can I have gel on a manicure?

Yes, £13 on top of any of them, and it adds about 15 minutes. If you want the nail strengthened as well, add BIAB for £10.
