What it is

Swedish massage, tailored to you. All of our massage therapists are NVQ Level 3 qualified, trained across the full range of massage styles we offer rather than specialising in just one.

After a short consultation, your therapist blends the aromatic oils to suit how you’re feeling and works into wherever you’re holding tension, whether that’s a desk-bound neck and shoulders or a full body reset. Warm lighting and gentle music set the tone, and the room is yours for the length of the session.

It’s the technique most people picture when they think of a classic massage: long, flowing strokes that ease everyday tension rather than target a specific injury. If you’re after something more clinical, deep tissue or sports massage aren’t on our menu. This is a relaxation-led Swedish massage through and through.

How long to book

Thirty minutes covers back, neck and shoulders (£49), which is the right length if you sit at a desk and your upper back is the problem. It’s also the length for a stand-alone Indian head massage.

Forty-five minutes (£59) adds the scalp to the back-and-shoulders combination. An hour (£71) covers full body, and seventy-five minutes (£82) gives you full body plus scalp. Ninety minutes (£96) and two hours (£109) exist for when you want the tension worked through properly, section by section, rather than skimmed over in a single pass.

Choose your massage

Four ways to book, each suited to a different need. If you’re not sure which one fits, mention it when you book and we’ll point you toward the right length and style.

Full body Swedish massage

From 60 minutes (£71) up to a full two hours (£109), with 75 and 90-minute options in between. It covers back, legs, arms, neck and shoulders, and the 75-minute version adds the scalp too. The longer the session, the more time your therapist spends on each area rather than giving everywhere a quick pass.

Before your therapist starts, you’ll settle on pressure together, from a lighter touch through to firmer work on the areas holding the most tension, and you can flag anywhere you’d rather they skipped. On the 90-minute and two-hour options, that extra time usually goes on coming back to your lower back or shoulders more than once, rather than covering the whole body just the one time.

Pregnancy massage

£75 for 60 minutes, using either aromatherapy or a gentle Swedish technique, with positioning adapted throughout to keep you comfortable. In practice that means side-lying support with cushions rather than lying flat, adjusted as the session goes on and you tell your therapist what feels right. If you have any concerns about massage during pregnancy, check with your midwife or GP before booking.

Indian head massage

£49 for a focused 30 minutes on the scalp, neck and shoulders. Your therapist works through with a mix of kneading and pressure-point techniques across exactly the areas where desk-and-screen tension tends to collect. Good if you want something shorter and more targeted than a full body session, or you’re short on time but still want the tension in your shoulders addressed.

Hot stones and warm bamboo

Either can be added to any massage for £14. Hot stones use heated stones placed along the body alongside the massage itself, and it’s the add-on people come back and book again. The heat is what people notice most, especially across the shoulders in colder months, and it’s worked in alongside the usual massage strokes rather than replacing them. Warm bamboo gives the same warmth but with a different texture and grip against the skin, a firmer, more solid feel that some people prefer to smooth stone. Both work well tacked onto a full body session, though there’s nothing stopping you adding one to a shorter appointment.

Before you book

Some conditions are not suitable for massage therapy. If you have any health concerns, particularly circulatory conditions, recent injuries, skin conditions or anything you’re under a doctor for, mention it when you book or speak to your doctor first. Your therapist will also ask before the session starts, so nothing gets missed.

Massage at three Bristol salons

Massage runs at all three of our salons: Clifton Down, Westbury on Trym and Westbury Park on Coldharbour Road. The same treatment menu runs at each, so whichever part of north-west Bristol you’re closest to, including Clifton, there’s a salon nearby. That’s useful if you’re booking around work rather than home, or the other way round. Book online to see what’s available and pick whichever salon suits your week.

Common questions

What does a full body massage include?

A full body massage covers your back, legs, arms, neck, shoulders and scalp, depending on the duration you book. You’re draped with towels throughout the treatment, and only the area currently being worked on is uncovered at any point.

Are there areas a massage cannot cover?

Yes. Some areas are treated carefully or avoided altogether depending on your health, including recent injuries, broken or inflamed skin, and areas affected by certain circulatory conditions. Your therapist will check in with you before the session starts, and if you have ongoing health concerns, it’s worth confirming with your doctor before booking.
