What it is
Environ is a skin health brand rather than a pampering one. The treatments use the freshest, most active forms of vitamin A and C alongside antioxidants and peptides, and they are delivered using sound waves and small electrical pulses that carry the ingredients deeper than hands alone can.
That delivery method is the entire point. Active vitamins applied to the surface of the skin do a fraction of what the same vitamins do when they reach the layers that actually need them.
What it helps with
Environ treatments are chosen for specific concerns rather than a general glow:
- Sun damage and pigmentation
- Premature ageing and loss of elasticity
- Dryness and dehydration
- Uneven skin tone
- Scarring and congestion
Choosing a treatment
The Focus-On treatments are shorter, targeted sessions aimed at one concern. The Essential treatments are the full facials and come in 60 and 90 minute versions, which is where most people start.
The Cool Peel uses low-strength lactic acid to lower skin pH and smooth texture, and suits rough or congested skin as well as early lines. The Frown treatment uses a peptide serum on the forehead specifically.
If you cannot tolerate the electro-sonic current for any reason, say so when you book. There is a hands-only version of the vitamin treatment that skips the machine entirely.
How the session runs
Sessions last anywhere from 30 minutes for targeted Focus-On treatments to 90 minutes for the full Essential facial, depending on what you want to address. Your therapist will discuss which treatment suits your skin at the start of your appointment.
The active vitamin formulation is applied to the skin and then delivered deeper using the electro-sonic device, which uses sound waves and low-level electrical current to carry the ingredients through the layers of skin that actually need them. If you cannot tolerate the electrical current, let your therapist know and they will use the hands-only version instead.
A note on sensitivity
Environ is generally well tolerated by sensitive skin, but active vitamin A is still active. Your therapist will start you at a level your skin can handle and build up from there rather than going straight in at full strength.
This matters more than it sounds. Going too hard too early with vitamin A is the most common reason people decide it does not suit them, when the real problem was the pace.
Afterwards
There is minimal downtime with these non-invasive treatments. Your therapist will give you specific aftercare instructions based on which Environ treatment you chose.
This gradual approach to vitamin A tolerance is why many people benefit from regular sessions over time.
