What it is

Crystal Clear microdermabrasion combines mechanical exfoliation with a gentle vacuum action. The vacuum lifts away dead cells and impurities while increasing micro-circulation and stimulating lymphatic drainage underneath.

It is one of the longest-standing treatments on our menu and it has stayed there because it reliably does what it says, on almost every skin type.

What it helps with

Immediate results on texture and radiance, and progressive results over a course on:

  • Fine lines and early ageing
  • Open pores and blackheads
  • Pigmentation and blemish scarring
  • Acne scarring and stretch marks
  • Dull, congested or tired-looking skin

Single session or a course

A single session includes a healing treatment mask selected for your skin type and gives you an immediate lift plus smoother texture.

Because the treatment works by encouraging new collagen and elastin, the deeper results build over a course. Six sessions is the standard recommendation, and it pairs well with a skin peel when you want to go deeper than exfoliation alone.

Before and after treatment

Tell your therapist about active acne, rosacea, eczema, broken or irritated skin, recent peels, isotretinoin, or any medicine or skin condition that may affect healing. Your NVQ Level 3 qualified beauty therapist will assess whether microdermabrasion is suitable and explain an alternative if it is not.

Mild redness or sensitivity can occur afterwards. Avoid additional exfoliation, direct heat and direct sun for the period your therapist advises, and use SPF. Contact the salon if a reaction concerns you.

Crystal Clear microdermabrasion is available at Clifton Down, Westbury on Trym and Westbury Park. Book online and choose the salon that suits you.

Common questions

Is microdermabrasion suitable for sensitive skin?

Suitability depends on the condition of your skin on the day. Tell your therapist about sensitivity, active inflammation, broken skin and current medicines before treatment.

How many microdermabrasion treatments do I need?

One session gives an immediate texture and radiance change. A course of six is the standard recommendation when the aim is progressive improvement.
