What it is
If you are searching for a spray tan in Bristol, here is what we do differently: there is no booth and no spray gun. We start with a full-body exfoliation, then apply Sienna X tinted self-tanning lotion by hand across the whole body.
The hand application lets the therapist work across the body rather than leaving the result to a machine. That is what helps prevent streaks and tidemarks. The depth of colour develops against your own skin tone, so it looks like a believable version of you rather than a uniform shade.
The £43 full body price includes the exfoliation first. The treatment takes 45 minutes. It works on every skin type, and on men as well as women. Your treatment is carried out by an NVQ Level 3 qualified beauty therapist.
Before your appointment
Do not use any other self-tanning product for at least four days beforehand. Do not wax or shave within 24 hours of your appointment. You can book waxing earlier, then leave that 24-hour gap before your tan.
Come in loose, dark clothing with a dark bra or none at all, since the guide colour can stain nylon and wool. Black paper tangas are provided when you arrive.
Skip perfume, deodorant and aromatherapy oils on the day. They interfere with how the tan develops.
The first twelve hours matter
Do not shower or bathe for at least four hours because the colour is still developing. It is fine to leave the guide colour on overnight and shower in the morning. The guide colour washes out of cotton.
Do not do anything that makes you perspire for at least twelve hours, and do not swim for at least twelve hours either. Pool chemicals bleach a spray tan the same way they bleach a real one.
Wear loose clothing afterwards. Tight waistbands leave marks in exactly the places you will notice.
Making it last
Moisturise daily and exfoliate every other day so the colour fades evenly rather than patchily. We stock the Sienna X body moisturiser and body polish, as well as a sunscreen that will not strip the tan.
If you are getting ready for an event, allow the first twelve hours after your tan for the colour to develop. You can also book gel nails for your hands and feet before the tan.
